Hello, I’m Charlie Pifer, and my mission is to help you experience healing, growth, and find a deeper understanding of the kind of person God is.
My mentoring program draws on years of life experience—from physically demanding jobs in the Masonry and Trucking industry to leadership roles in churches and recovery groups—as well as insights from my own recovery journey.
My approach blends biblical truth, practical wisdom, and personal stories to guide you in reframing your life through the transformative power of everyday experiences. I sincerely believe you can find clarity and courage to challenge limiting beliefs, find freedom from unwanted behaviors, and grow into a deeper understanding of a God that heals.
I live in Pennsylvania where I work full-time as a diesel mechanic for a trucking company and run a horse farm with my wife, Sara, and son Boaz.

Testimonials
I’ve known Charlie Pifer since May 2022, when we were both members of a Pure Desire “7 Pillars of Freedom” group addressing our unhealthy sexual behaviors. He’s always been one of the most honest, authentic, and creative individuals I’ve had the privilege of calling friend and brother. His life choices and God’s guidance give him a unique perspective to share and relate his life experiences through his podcast “Hands Like Hide.”
Although our backgrounds and life experiences differ, Charlie has consistently provided insightful observations that helped me identify an obstacle in my own development that I had been struggling to comprehend. Charlie’s background is predominantly blue-collar, while I began my career in agriculture, did some construction work, worked part-time as a church janitor, and spent several years in computer operations. I also failed as a salesman. Most of my career was spent in insurance as a business lines underwriter, with a part-time operation raising Santa Gertrudis cattle. For 28 years, I spent every day in the insurance office. During that time, my younger son was in FFA and started showing Santa Gertrudis cattle, which led to my part-time operation.
Despite our differences, Charlie’s perspective and insight have been spot-on, helping me unlock understanding and realization of issues I couldn’t articulate. Through his podcast “Hands Like Hide,” Charlie shares his sharp intellect and a deep understanding of human nature, our depravity, and the resources available to guide us toward sobriety and a lifelong journey of recovery and healthy living and sexuality.
